The Paddling Pool In The King George V Playing Field At The Lake Pleasure Grounds (Town Park), Warminster, Has Been Repaired, Repainted, Refilled And Reopened In Time For The School Holidays

Monday 25th July 2016:

Warminster Town Council have issued the following press release ~

A Splashing Time for the School Holidays as Paddling Pool Reopens.

The paddling pool in Warminster Town Park was officially reopened on Monday 25th July 2016 following essential works to repair and repaint it. The opening nearly didn’t go ahead when it was discovered that the water tap had been vandalised on Thursday afternoon by someone who had managed to breach the protective barriers. Fortunately the Town Council was able to have the damage repaired and filling the pool started early on Monday morning.

 Warminster Town Councillors Pip Ridout,
Andrew Davis and Sue Fraser, take a dip.

The official opening was attended by Warminster Town Councillors Pip Ridout (Deputy Mayor), Andrew Davis, Sue Fraser and Keith Humphries, along with Town Clerk Heather Abernethie and officers Stuart Legg and Judith Halls.

The Dolphin and the pool are looking new.

Councillor Ridout said: “We are delighted that we were able to open the paddling pool at the beginning of the school holidays. We’ve had such a good spell of weather recently and are hoping this will continue so that the children can get maximum enjoyment from one of the star features of our wonderful park. We will be continuing to make improvements once the park is fully transferred to Town Council ownership, as we are aware of how upset our residents have been about recent neglect.”

Fun for the little ones again.
