Operation Luna Talk For StarQuest Astronomy Club At Sutton Veny

StarQuest Astronomy Club
Monthly Meeting
at
Sutton Veny Village Hall,
High Street, Sutton Veny, BA12 7AP
on
Thursday 8th September 2016,
7.30 p.m.

 Paul Hill.

'Operation Luna'
a talk by
Paul Hill
(Sirius Astronomy).
This is a return visit to the Club by Paul
and his talk this time takes its name from
the BBC sci-fi series of the 1950s.
The talk will be a history of the moon and
how humans have observed it, used it and
of course visited it. Paul will describe how
the moon formed, how the major features
occurred, and how people have looked at
and interacted with the moon -
including some myth busting.
Paul will be bringing along some interesting items
including Tim Peake's space suit again, so those
who missed seeing it before can have a look
(and try it on if they so wish).

Hopefully some night sky viewing can take
place after the meeting (weather permitting).

All are welcome, members and non-members,
young and old, beginners and experts.
