Archie And Finn Martin Will Switch On Warminster's Christmas Lights 2016

Monday 21st November 2016:

Local Schoolchildren to Switch On Warminster’s Christmas Lights

                                  Archie and Finn Martin.

Warminster’s Christmas Lights 2016 will be switched on at 6.30 p.m. on Saturday 26th November by Archie and Finn Martin, who are aged nine and four respectively, have lived in Warminster all their lives and attend Minster Primary School.

Last October, at the age of three, Finn was sadly diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. This resulted in an immediate long and difficult stay in Southampton Hospital for him with a devastating effect on the Martin’s family life. After many rounds of intensive chemotherapy, Finn thankfully went into remission. However, his current treatment plan requires daily chemotherapy until 2019 and regular hospital appointments, so his illness continues to dominate his family’s life with the result that it has totally changed their perspective and they are trying to make as many happy memories as they can.

Archie and Finn’s mother, Debbie Martin, said: “The boys are very excited to play such a major part in Warminster’s Christmas Light festivities this year, so a huge thank you to Warminster Town Council for inviting us.”

Archie and Finn will form part of the lead party for the lantern parade which will leave Warminster Civic Centre at 6.00 p.m. to parade to the grounds of the Chapel of St Lawrence, where the switch-on will take place at 6.30 p.m.
