New Town Clerk Appointed

Warminster Town Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Fiona Fox to fill the role of Town Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer, on the retirement of Heather Abernethie on 7th April 2017.

 Fiona Fox.

Fiona graduated from university in 1985. After a period in industry, she came to the clerking profession eight years ago, most recently as Parish Clerk for Witley, Surrey. During this time, she attained her professional clerking qualifications and is a Fellow of the Institute of Local Council Management. Having also been a Responsible Financial Officer, she has all the necessary qualifications and experience to take on this demanding position. Warminster Town Council is confident it has found an excellent candidate to replace Heather, who has given such outstanding service to the town and will be sorely missed.

Fiona married last summer and recently moved to Amesbury, where she lives with her husband, two stepchildren and Kipper, her rescue greyhound.  She was thrilled to find a vacancy in the area that so suits her skills and is excited at the prospect of taking on responsibility for a larger parish than her current one. “I am honoured and delighted to be the next Clerk of Warminster Town Council and look forward to building on the excellent work of Heather Abernethie, the previous Clerk,” said Fiona, who has many innovative ideas to bring to the role.

In her spare time, Fiona enjoys singing with a classical musical group, supporting her husband’s rugby team and amateur dramatics. She is looking forward to bringing her creative flair to the events calendar in Warminster.

Warminster Town Council would like to congratulate Fiona on her appointment and to wish her every success in the post.
