Concession Extended To Early Bus Service Between Warminster And Salisbury

Friday 9th June 2017:

Warminster Town Council have issued the following press release ~

Since 1st April 2017 the bus service between Warminster and Salisbury has been reduced from hourly to every two hours. Passengers with bus passes had previously been unable to use their passes before 9.40 a.m., which should have meant the first available service they could board was at 11.11 a.m.

However, Warminster Town Councillors set to debate this item at the Town Development meeting on 5th June 2017 were pleased to discover that Wiltshire Council has brought forward the time at which bus passes are allowed, which enables passengers to travel on the bus that leaves the Market Place, Warminster, at 9.11 a.m.

The Mayor of Warminster, Councillor Rob Fryer said “I was very concerned that the changes to the timetable would make life very difficult for those who use this service, so I am delighted that the concession has been extended in this way.”
