Christmas 2017 In Warminster

Wednesday 22nd November 2017:

Christmas in Warminster
Saturday 25th November marks the start of Christmas 2017 in Warminster with the annual Christmas Market at Warminster Civic Centre running from 10.00 a.m. until 4.30 p.m. The 32 stalls this year will be packed with Christmas gift ideas from toys, crafts, beauty products, jewellery, Christmas wreaths and much more. Santa will be in his grotto with gifts for the children and there’ll be choirs to entertain visitors.

The High Street, Warminster, will be closed from 4.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. for the Christmas Lights switch-on, which once again is focussed around the Chapel of St Lawrence, where the town's Christmas tree takes centre stage. A lantern parade led by a donkey will process from Warminster Civic Centre at 6.00 p.m. via Morrison's Car Park, Weymouth Street and the High Street to the chapel, along with musicians, the Mayor and the Town Crier. All participants are being encouraged to wear nativity costumes.

The singing of carols outside the Chapel of St Lawrence will be accompanied by Warminster Brass Band, supported by a ‘pop-up’ Christmas choir that has been formed for the event. Onlookers will also be entertained by a short nativity play, written and performed by supporters of Warminster Community Radio.

Warminster Christmas Lights will be switched on at 6.30 p.m. by Penny-Jayne Loveday.

There will be free parking in the Central and Western Car Parks, Warminster, all day on Saturday 25th November 2017.
