Hasn't It Already Been Established That The Ministry Of Defence Owns The Verge Opposite Kingdown School At Woodcock Road, Warminster?

Wednesday 18th April 2018:

At the meeting of Warminster Town Council's Town Development Committee, held at Warminster Civic Centre, on the evening Monday 4th December 2017, there was reference to a meeting of the Community Area Transport Group (CATG) of Wiltshire Council.

Woodcock Road, Warminster, was mentioned in the CATG report. At the 4th December 2017 meeting of the Town Council's Development Committee it was minuted that Fiona Fox, the Warminster Town Council Clerk, "would [now] have a discussion with the military to establish who owns the verge opposite Kingdown School and whether there are any plans for it.

And at the meeting of Warminster Town Council's Town Development Committee held on Monday 19th February 2018, councillors were given a report of a meeting of CATG held on 8th February 2018, which included: "Woodcock Road. Kingdown were not interested in taking on the grass verge opposite the school. They would have no funds to do anything with the land. It was resolved to keep this on the agenda of CATG until the ownership was known."

It seems the ownership of the grass verge at Woodcock Road, opposite Kingdown School, was established by Warminster Town Council over a year ago. At a meeting of Warminster Town Council's Town Development Committee, held on Monday 3rd October 2016, Councillor Davis updated Warminster Town Council members about a CATG meeting held on Tuesday 27th September 2016. It was stated (and recorded in the minutes of the Warminster Town Council Town Development Committee meeting (of Monday 3rd October 2016) that: "It has been established that the verge opposite the school [Kingdown School] belongs to the Ministry Of Defence."
