Commissioned into the Gurkha Regiment
in 1960, Sir Peter Duffell saw service in
Malaya, Singapore and Northern Ireland
before commanding British Forces in
Hong Kong. In this talk he will separate
fact from myth and recount the history,
character and spirit of these loyal and
dedicated soldiers from the prism of his
own service as a regular officer in the
2nd King Edward VII's Own Gurkha Rifles,
as the Brigade of Gurkhas Major General
and as Colonel of the Royal Gurkha Rifles.
