New Skatepark For Warminster In Summer 2019

Tuesday 2nd October 2018:

At a recent meeting of Warminster Town Council, Councillors voted unanimously to continue with the aim to deliver a new skatepark facility for Warminster and the surrounding area.

Until now the skatepark project has been led by the voluntary group, Friends of Warminster Park, but now the Town Council will take ownership of the skatepark project and move it forward to conclusion.

Councillors recognised the excellent work that the Friends of Warminster Park had completed to date and resolved to continue working in partnership with them to deliver the
project.

A working group has been formed to oversee the project and it is hoped that all the funding will be in place by early next year, and that a new skatepark will be ready for the summer
holidays.

Councillor Denis Brett said: “The Lake Pleasure Grounds lie within the heart of Warminster providing events and activities for all, including a paddling pool, boats on the lake, tennis courts and a cafe. The skatepark will be a piece of the jigsaw that integrates another section of the community which is currently under-represented. This project will bring a state of the art skatepark for scooters, skateboards and bikes to the Lake Pleasure Grounds.”
