Warminster Town Council Have Purchased Royal British Legion "Thank You" Silhouettes

Tuesday 2nd October 2018:

At a recent meeting of Warminster Town Council, Councillors voted unanimously to purchase three Royal British Legion 'Thank You' silhouettes.

There will be one silhouette to represent each of the three armed services. The silhouettes (shown below) will be located outside Warminster Civic Centre at Sambourne Road and then moved to the War Memorial at Portway for the Remembrance Service on Sunday 11th November 2018.

Town Councillor Denis Brett said: “Warminster is proud of its association with the Armed Services and proud of the many sacrifices made by local people in conflicts commemorated by Remembrance Day. This year is the 100th anniversary of the Armistice that saw the end of the fighting in WW1. It is particularly important that we reflect on those who died and those who gave in so many other ways and to demonstrate that we have not forgotten them.”
