Warminster Skatepark Given £20,000 Boost.

Plans for the Community Skatepark in the Lake Pleasure Grounds (Town Park) Warminster, have been given a significant boost by the award of a £20,000 grant by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund.

The Armed Forces Covenant Fund gives grants to projects that will benefit the armed forces and the community. The award is particularly welcome as the Armed Forces Covenant say funding is limited, so they will only be able to fund the very best projects.

Councillor Chris Robbins, Chairman of Warminster Town Council’s Finance and Assets Committee said: “I am delighted that we have been awarded this funding. The armed forces are a very important part of the Warminster Community. We have a track record of engagement and partnership working. We have a real understanding of the issues and pressures on armed forces families, particularly children. The skatepark will be used to promote integration between military and civilian families This funding boost is a huge vote of confidence in the project to provide a new skatepark.”
